Yemen, a fertile and wealthy land, is a country with over 7000 years of history that to this day maintains its distinct character. One of the most untouched and unexpected places where you step back to the history. The way of life, traditions and centuries old architecture make Yemen a living museum.
However what are the most intact and least disturbed by the influence of modern living is the purity and simplicity of the life and people. No matter where you are in the country you will be overwhelmed by the authenticity, more remote areas you go to more intense will be this feeling.
In this exhibition Yemen is presented through the lens of acclaimed photographers travelled who to Yemen in March and May 2009; A treasure trove for all of them, a paradise for photographers.
The project “Yemen. A treasure trove” has been organized by Total Arts Gallery in collaboration with Felix Arabia.
