The artist Celia El Hadi Moadad was a member of the Lebanese artist's association - Painters and Sculptors

She was born in Mazaltan, in Mexico. She grew up in a traditional Lebanese family.

Her father was one of the renowned emigrant traders in Mexico. He left a trace that still exists until the present day. A street was named after his family “Al Adi” in Mazaltan, Mexico. Professional teachers taught her the basics of drawing and painting and she excelled in this field. She taught painting in the school of Sisters of the Sacred Heart for a long time. Celia continued her journey in art education and joined the Fine Arts Academy at the Lebanese University where she did not miss a chance to master art. Celia left many amazing masterpieces, and this book includes only a small fraction of her collection of artistic works. Her family honored her by establishing a permanent art gallery in her house in Bzebdine. The artist was honored by the Ministry of Culture for her beautiful and amazing masterpieces, in the presence of a big number of official and artistic personalities, as well as her friends and family members.

ولدت الفنانة سيليا الهادي معضاد في المكسيك في بلدة مصاتلان. ترعرعت في عائلة لبنانية أصيلة.

كان والدها من أشهر التجار المغترب في المكسيك. ترك اثراً بقي حتى اليوم فما يزال شارع باسم العائلة «الهادي » في مساتلان المكسيك. تعلمت الفنانة اصول الرسم على ايدي اساتذة محترفين وبرعت في هذا المجال.

فقامت بتدريس مادة الرسم في معهد راهبات القلبين الاقدسين لفترة لا يستهان بها. التحقت بمعهد الفنون الجميلة في الجامعة اللبنانية حيث انها لم تÈ تك فرصة التمكن في قواعد الفن والرسم. لساليا أعمال فنية رائعة وليس هذا الكتاب سوى مجموعة صغيرة من أعمالها الفنية الكبيرة.

أقامت عائلتها تكريماً لها بمعرض دائم في منزلها في بزبدين. وقد كرمت الفنانة من قبل وزارة الثقافة لأعمالها الفنية الرائعة بحضور حشد كبير من الشخصيات الرسمية والفنية والأصدقاء وافراد العائلة.

Portrait of the artist during her art career

Celia began to pursue her education as a child, first in Cairo, the cultural capital of that time. She learned the basics of drawing and painting from professional teachers in Cairo by correspondence. She also benefited from the experience of Gebrael Germani, famous artist in Bzebdine. She spent hours in his studio, transforming colors into reflections and images.

Later, she worked with the renowned artist, Rafic Sharaf, for four years, becoming a professional artist herself, which qualified her to teach art in the schools of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart in Hadath and Gazir. Celia also pursued her education in art at the Lebanese University, where she received the commendations of her teachers, particularly Rafic Sharaf, Jean Khalife, Aref Al Reyes and Samih Attar.

She later joined the studio of Haidar Hamawi, spending 14 years as a painter there, to be followed by her founding her own studio at the Russian Cultural Center, where she spent eight years. She organized exhibitions and taught many, establishing her standing as an artist and contributing to the cultural development of Beirut.

تاقت سيليا إلى العلم منذ صغرها وبدأت رحلتها الفنية في القاهرة العاصمة الثقافية لذلك الزمن الجميل. تعلمت أصول الرسم بمراسلة المعهد العربي الكبير للفنون في القاهرة, على أيدي أساتذة محترفين. حيث لم تترك فرصة للتمكن من قواعد الفن والرسم على يد احد رواد بزبدين الفنان جبرائيل الجرماني, أمضت ساعات في محترفه ساعية في تكوين الصور والظلال وجاهدة قي مزج اللون والخيال. تابعت الفنانة دراساتها في محترف الفنان الكبير رفيق شرف لمدّة أربع سنوات, أتاحت لها فرص الاحتراف في مجال الفن والإبداع، مما خولها تدريس مادّة الرسم في معهد راهبات القلبين الأقدسين في فرعي الحدث وغزير. تابعت سيليا مسيرة تحصيلها واختصاصها فالتحقت بمعهد الفنون الجميلة في الجامعة اللبنانية وشاركت في التمارين العملية وفي النشاطات الفنيّة في المعهد، حازت على تقدير أساتذتها, وفي طليعتهم الفنانون رفيق شرف,جان خليفة ,عارف الريّس وسميح عطّار. التحقت بعد ذلك بمحترف الأستاذ الفنان حيدر حموي ,أمضت خمسة عشر عاماً كفنانة محترفة توجتها بثماني سنوات في محترفها الخاص في المركز الثقافي الروسي. لتقيم المعارض والمحترفات ولتدرّس عدد من التلامذة, مما عزز مكانتها كفنانة رافقت الحركة الثقافية والمجتمعية في سنوات التألق التي عاشتها بيروت.
