Antoine Mansour

Artist Painter

Antoine Mansour was born in Lebanon in 1964. In 1988, he obtained a degree in interior design from the Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University in Beirut.

In his decorative arts workshop, he creates ‘trompe l’œil’, perspective and furniture design. He pursues lofty, philosophical, and meditative themes that reflect his aspiration for a balanced lifestyle and spiritual enlightenment.

He expresses his ideas in his highly skilled art work with tremendous impact and gusto. Recurrent themes throughout his art work illustrate his profound metaphysical ideas that are expressed in his reflections about nature, love, time, the human condition and psyche.

As a highly esteemed perspective designer, he works closely with renowned local and international architects namely: Arcrea International, Condas International, Dada Associates, Serge Brunst, and Gregory Gasterelia.

He has also worked for his majesty Sultan Qaboos - in conjunction with the creative team of Edgar Bali - on the ‘Al Baraka’ project in Muscat.

Article by Joseph Abou Rizk (Writer Philosopher - Professor at the Lebanese University, and the Lebanese Fine Arts Academy.)

The recent paintings of Antoine Mansour that bring us face to face with our reality as human beings, lead us in a circuit of interrogations and representations of which we cannot stop the motion, unless we refer to the divine creator, or seek refuge in the artist’s soul, whose warm and fervent welcome gives us the aesthetic pleasure, by sharing his authentically human worries to communicate his virtues to all beings aspiring towards fulfillment.

Philosophical, or rather metaphysical, the achievements of Antoine Mansour never cease to be the product of an artist who calls for his sensitivity, his fine taste, his sense of harmony, and only uses his intellect in order to organize what his sensibility and imagination provide as raw material.

Ravishing, captivating, truth revealing, stimulating spiritual and human energies, the paintings of Antoine Mansour, albeit figurative, serve as a point of departure for a new rebirth in the visual arts.
