Artist-Painter Darwiche Chamaa's journey into the world of art started in Gabon where he was born in 1981. He came back to Lebanon in 1991 to obtain his technical Architectural Drawing Baccalaureate and a Diploma of higher studies from the Lebanese University’s Institute of Fine Arts. In 2006, he got a master’s degree from The Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts ( ALBA ). He currently teaches at the Lebanese International University as well as other schools.
Despite being passionate about Architectural Drawing, Darwiche found more freedom in Fine Arts. His paintings are a reflection of his style, influenced by Cubism and Impressionism. He faced numerous obstacles and challenges along the way, but his determination and persistence helped him overcome them.
Darwiche has participated in several group exhibitions at prestigious venues such as UNESCO Palace, Solidere, and the French Cultural Center. He was invited to showcase his work in a solo exhibition, Azama Ala Azama, at Alkahila Art Gallery in Cairo, Egypt, in 2021. He also held a solo exhibition, Memories of Beirut, at Galerie Cheriff Tabet in 2022. Darwiche’s work is regularly found in Art Auctions and is part of numerous private collections, including the Farhat Art Museum, Sheikha May Al Khalifa, Dar Zefta, MAO collection, the French Embassy in Lebanon, and many others.
