The beauty of travel reflected in bold art:
Chaouki Chamoun fills the canvas with an agitated surface of scribbles. Then suddenly, he shifts mood and blocks off within a small isolated frame the sure shapes and colors of a figurative landscape scene. In others that appear abstract, he combines the spontaneity of action painting with lines of determined control.
In many of the paintings, a provocative combination of chaos and order-a characteristic one could readily perceive as an audible echo of the Lebanese-American dichotomy currently directing Chamoun's art.
Chamoun has invested his Art education and life career as an artist in a continuous and responsible search for new aesthetic language hoping for new additions to our artistic vocabulary.
