From an innovative mix of Eastern suggestions and a European sensibility for cuts and sartorial styling, to a more modern style reflecting old civilizations and bringing to present goddesses from the past, this is the unique style of Zuhair Murad.
Zuhair Murad was born in Beirut, Lebanon. After pursuing his studies in Art and Design, he opened his first atelier in 1995. His new style approach soon earned him great interest among Beirut's high society and the national press. In 1999, he was invited by La Camera Nazionale della Moda to showcase his collection during Alta Roma Fashion Week which signaled his international debut in spectacular fashion.
From Rome to Paris: In 2001, he presents his Couture collection during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, a move that contributed to Zuhair Murad's rising star status even further in the eye of the press and of a growing crowd of international jetsetters, highlighting Murad's distinctiveness, defined cuts and eclectic embroidery.
In 2002, the Prêt-a-Porter collection marked its debut and was presented in 2009 during Milano Moda Week, meeting enthusiastic reception from the press.
"Ever since I was a child, I used to imagine designs for imaginary clients. I have always loved to work in the word of luxury and design...As my country in well known for its natural beauty...that expertise...made me fall into the world of haute couture," Murad has said. His lavish creations, in sensational colors and extraordinary fabrics, are reminiscent of Egyptian princesses, Grecian goddesses and pure, glorious splendor, complete with an edgy twist that modernizes his collections just enough.
As well as designing his own lines, Zuhair Murad collaborated in 2006 with Mango Group, one of the biggest international fashion groups, to design the "Mango by Zuhair Murad" collection to be sold in all Mango stores. A collaboration that would last for four years.
Hollywood and music celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Fergie, Eva Longoria-Parker, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Ivana Trump, Beyonce Knowles, Kellie Pickler, Shakira, Vanessa Williams, Ana Ortiz, Miley Cyrus and many more... have made Zuhair Murad's gowns a highly sought-after choice for red carpet events, from the Oscars to the Cannes film festival, movie premieres to the 2011 Golden Globe Awards. He also designed miss France's dress Chloé Mortaud for Miss universe 2009 and 5 dresses for the final of Miss France 2010 .
Zuhair Murad's creativity went beyond dressing women; in 2005 the House offered the privilege of individually designed and crafted men's clothing, a made-to-measure service with an array of choices on the cut, the fabric and the ultimate details.
Murad's glamorous lines also include Accessories of shoes, bags and necklaces.
Today, Zuhair Murad's lines, Couture, Ready to Wear, Men's, Accessories and Bridals are sold in Beirut and Paris, while his Ready to Wear can be found in major boutiques around the world.
