You’re in for a fabulous treat if you’re in Lebanon this July, in perfect
time to attend Zouk Mikael International annual summer festival.
The festival, held in the charming Lebanese town of Zouk Mikael,
attracts guests from all over the country and abroad.

The town, 10 minutes away from Beirut, is perched
on a hill of Kesrouwan overlooking the Mediterranean.

Its roman styled amphitheatre, built for major
events with a capacity of 3000, hosts the festival.
The venue is complete with cafeterias and public facilities. A large car park
shuttles for transportation to and from the festival to ensure convenient access.

Program Zouk Mikael Festival for Summer 2009

July 3 - Garou
Tickets: 60.000LL 90.000LL 120.000LL
“I always want to make people happy – to open myself up and give
them everything I have inside me. Every single time.”

These words summarize the essence of Garou, who delivers nothing
less than his soul to his audience in every one of his performances.

With over 5 million records sold to date, Garou teamed up on ‘Piece of My Soul’
(May 2008) with renowned songwriters from around the world and recorded
most of the album in Europe with famed producer Peer Astrom.
The finished album is tinged with rock songs, ballads and pop influences.

July 17 - Yves Lecoq
Tickets: 30.000LL 60.000LL 90.000LL
The best way of presenting Yves Lecoq is to cite what has been written
of him: “Yves Lecoq: plural voices. He is undoubtedly the master of impersonation,
” wrote Le Parisien while Le Nouvel Observateur wrote: “…Yves Lecoq cultivates
a humor at once caustic and of a rare elegance”.

Famous for having imitated former French President Jacques Chirac for
30 years, Yves Lecoq now imitates current French President and other
prominent figures. He has some 150 voices in his repertoire.

July 23 - Sugar Ray & the Bluetones
Tickets: 30.000LL 60.000LL 90.000LL
Harmonica player, lyricist and singer, two-time Grammy Award nominee
Sugar Ray Norcia has been performing with his hand since the late 1970’s.

His music derives from an eclectic set of influences
and probably shows most in his original tunes.

With his quiet, cheerful, unassuming personality, Norcia is the kind of
person people go to with their personal problems. Some of this
(and his own life experience) provides fodder for his songs

July 31 Nancy Ajram
Tickets: 40.000LL 60.000LL 90.000LL
Nancy Ajram is a multi-platinum selling Lebanese pop folk artist.

One of the decade’s most important superstars in the Middle East & Arab
World, Ajram is ranked as the 3rd best-selling female artist in Lebanese history.

Ajram has participated in some of the most important Arab festivals
and won many award, with her most recent being the
“2008 World Music Award” for best-selling Middle Eastern artist.

The performance at Zouk Mikael Festival is a return to
her roots, as this is the region she’s from.
