ASTRID HADAD - THE MEXICAN POST MODERN DIVA – WORLD
MUSIC
Steps of the Bacchus Temple
As sharp as a razor's edge, as baroque as a Mexican
church, Astrid Hadad embodies all the women she
sings about.
A real virtuoso of rapid transformation, she changes
style as easily as she would her strapless top.
She is all women, submissive or femme fatale, seduced
or deserted, naive or poisonous; her music ranges
from Rock to Rumba, from Cumbia to Ranchero in pure
Mexican tradition but at the same time she adds
the occasional twist which has given her the reputation
of being an iconoclast.
She sharpens her blade-like wit and her music so
as to ridicule male chauvinism, political and amorous
fundamentalism and to poke fun at those in power.
She has been called a "traveling museum of
popular culture"... So do not miss the visit!
An antidepressant and intoxicating entertainment!
