Biography
- 1954-1958:
He studied at the academy of ART in Lebanese - Alba - in Beirut.
- USA - CHICAGO - He studied at the Academy of Sciences footprint
in 1975 And received the certificate with honors in Science footprint
in 18 - April -1975
1955-1974: Participated in all exhibitions of Lebanese artists organized
by the Ministry of Education in Lebanon and abroad and also outside
Lebanon " Pinal: Alexandria - Sao Paulo - Paris.
1959 - received
a grant from the Indian state
1960 - he joined the Institute of Fine Arts and in Hyderabad, India
1964 - solo exhibition at the Assembly of Lebanese artists and sculptors
1965 - solo exhibition of artists and sculptors Association
1965-1968 - received a grant from the Lebanese state to study and
stay at the Institute of Fine Arts in Rome, Italy
1967 - solo exhibition in Paris, France
1968 - solo exhibition in Pisa, Italy
1968 - solo exhibition in Madrid, Spain
1968 - solo exhibition at the Assembly of Lebanese artists and sculptors
1973 - group exhibition at the UNESCO Palace, Beirut
1974 - Alpinal the first Arab in Baghdad, Iraq
1974 - solo exhibition, and gallery (1), Beirut
1975 - solo exhibition at the home of Samia Totonji, Beirut
Ibrahim Marzouk
died on 8 October 1975 in a bomb a result of a neighborhood on the
door of an oven, while the was standing in grade to buy a piece
of bread and at the beginning of the civil war in Lebanon.

1954 - 1958:
Etudie les Beaux-Arts à l'A.L.B.A
1955 - 1974: Biennales d'Alexandrie, Sao Paolo et Paris
1959 - 1960: Bourse du gouvernement indien. Séjour d'un an
a Hyderabad
1965 - 1968: Bourse du gouvernement libanais pour des études
à l’académie des Beaux-Arts de Rome - Séjour
de trois ans à Rome.
1966 - 1974: Plusieurs expositions personnelles et collectives en
Italie et au Liban.
En 1974 participe
à la première Biennale Arabe de Bagdad
Ceux qui l'ont
connu, évoquent souvent son grand talent de chanteur, grand
amoureux de la vie. Cet artiste qui a surtout peint les souks et
les cafés de Beyrouth est à la fois un peintre très
intimiste: des objets d'enfants qui traînent, des tiroirs
ouverts, ce miroir presque obsessionnel, autoportraits et portraits
d'amis peintres habitent ses intérieurs vibrants de couleurs;
mais le sort en a décidé autrement en ce jour du 8
Octobre 1975, quand il fut tué par une bombe à la
porte de la boulangerie du coin...
Propos
de l'artiste (Extraits traduits):
"L'artiste est un être humain comme les autres, à
part qu'il possède cette faculté particulière
de créer un langage avec les choses; ainsi sa vision de la
pomme ou des vagues de la mer n’est pas identique à la vôtre.
J'estime qu'il faut lui accorder ce droit. En tenant compte de ce
point de vue, je vous invite a regarder encore une fois l’exposition
à laquelle vous êtes conviés; et soyez les bienvenus
dans ce monde!!..."
Commentaire:
La plupart des toiles de l'artiste Ibrahim Marzouk (décédé
à l'âge de 38 ans, fauché par un obus dans une
file d'attente pour un kilo de pain, aux premiers temps de la guerre)
aux couleurs sombres, ternes brouillées, ont pour pièce
centrale Beyrouth. Il élabore, comme s'il se ménageait
prémonitoirement un refuge symbolique contre les rues en
passe de devenir mortelles, une imagerie de huis-clos intimiste,
dans une pérégrination autour de son atelier et de
sa mémoire.
